Apr 24, 2013  Avoid overlapping text: The best way to guarantee best translation quality with a PDF translator is to make sure that the original document has enough white space around the text. A loose layout is always a reader-friendly solution also without any intention to translate the document. Additionally, the inter-character spacing is weird. It sometimes writes characters overlapping each other. I noticed some repetition in the garbled text, so I typed a few of them into Google, and surprisingly got a lot of hits. Here is the string I searched for: pdf cjmp ebuf nftf up! The Google search summaries contain the garbled text. Some of the PDF downloads are very clear: All information looks as it should. I do notice though that some PDFs have fields in which the text answers are all bunched together and overlapping. It seems that any field that would require scrolling has all the text bunched up this way.

I'm trying to change an overlapping element (text) in my css file. One line of texts (in a regular browser) appears as two lines of text in mobile, overlapped together.

This change is for the mobile version of the site (the @media section for landscape tablets)

Currently, the header (h2) text is overlapping on an iPad/tablet.

Crackspider patches. I tried the line-height property but it didn't work?

Any ideas..

Are you sure that the line-height css property has been apply to your class?

Otherwise, have you added the meta tag in the header?

Also, for responsive website, be sure that the text isn't ajusted:

This should do it by preventing the text from wrapping, but it will cut off the end text. i.e. won't display any text longer than the width.

Just add it to existing class:

Personally I like to use the ellipsis effect for long titles and tablet devices. Ellipsis trims the text and adds three dots where text has been trimmed.

When printing from Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) to the Adobe PDF Printer, the resulting PDF file may have missing or garbled text.

Uncheck the option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts' from the Adobe PDF Settings tab within the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box.

To access the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box, please perform the following steps:

Open the Printers and Faxes (Windows XP), Printers (Windows Vista) or Devices and Printers (Windows 7) folder.
Right-click the Adobe PDF printer and choose 'Printing Preferences'.
On the Adobe PDF Settings tab, uncheck to option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts.'
Click OK to close the printer preferences dialog box.

This issue is caused by an incompatibility in the fonts handling interface between the Windows XPS print path and the Adobe PDF printer. By performing the steps above, you allow the Adobe PDF printer to use the obfuscated embedded fonts provided by the Windows XPS print path.
